ŠumadijaFive regions: where to found your next village
Your first village is always Lipovac, in Šumadija. It has a bit of everything: forest, river and meadows, with no big advantages and no big drawbacks. Once Lipovac becomes a large village (five winters survived and eighteen people), you can found a new village in another region from Igra › Karta kraja (Game › Region map).
The Plain (Ravnica, north, village of Ravno Polje)
Fertile soil: fields yield double. That is why there is little forest and wood is scarce. People here live off grain and vegetables, and firewood is guarded like gold.
The Mountain (Planina, west, village of Gornje Selo)
Dense forest, and logs sell well. Winters are harsh, so houses burn more firewood, and fields yield half. A good place for woodcutters and foresters, a bad one for farmers.
The Danube (Podunavlje, east, village of Dubrava)
Plenty of fish: the catch is double. But the river floods in spring and destroys whatever is sown near the bank. Keep your fields away from the water.
The River Island (Ada, south)
Traders arrive by boat and pay more at the fair. Land is scarce, so every field has to pay its way.
Villages help each other
Villages in different regions send goods to one another. So it makes sense for your second village to be good at what the first one is weak at: the Plain for food, the Mountain for wood, the Island for trade.
Each further village can be founded once another of your villages grows large, so the campaign grows step by step.
